NGD - Blackat Leon 8 Super-tele - vid inside

As some may know, I have been in touch with Tomek from Blackat Guitars, trying out their stuff, giving them a good once over and feedback, and disgracing myself via the acquisition of these lovely things.

This is another model in the Blackat line, the Leon 8. It shares the sort of super-tele shape Tomek favours (as seen on my Ninja 8 here), only this time featuring passives and a piezo. Here is the speccage:

- Sapele body, flame maple top and matching headstock veneer
- Maple / mahogany neck, 27" scale
- Hipshot hardware
- DiMarzio D Activator 8's
- Graphtech Ghost piezo system

This one caught my eye even during its building stages, and I was quite eager to give her a proper spanking when I came to the Musikmesse this year. Here's the lass upon arrival:


Since Wednesday is typically a calm day at the Messe, I could have some undisturbed fun with her:


Since it was a mess (no pun intended) to bring her back with me only to take her to Belgium a couple weeks later, Tomek and I agreed he'd bring her along to the launch of Ola Englund's S7G Solar there, where I'd be playing with him. Here she is getting acquainted with one of my Jaden Rose JHM's:


It was time to give her a proper inaugural run during the mini-showcases at Guitar Candy:
