In my earlier email, I said you didnt have the right to know the facts but now I believe I need to clarify things in order for you and I to do proper business. Sure, I could just go buy a guitar somewhere else and you may not deal with me but at very least you will know what is what. I would appreciate it if you read this.
I was assaulted on March 12th at around 10pm. I was walking home from seeing Fall City Fall and others. On the way home I stopped at my bass players house to pick up my guitar since I had ordered new strings and they came in that afternoon, I had my other guitarist pick them up prior to the show since he lives near the music store that had the strings. On the way home, I got a text from my cousin, he asked where I was, I said I was walking home from the show and grabbing my guitar. 10 mins later I saw a car drive by me slowly and pull into the grocery store parking lot about 3 blocks ahead. 3 houses past the store, two guys and a girl came out of a back yard and told me to hand over my guitar, hat, shoes, wallet and my backpack. I saw a cab less than 2 blocks up on the right sitting on the side of the road, I decided to make a break for the cab so I ran and yelled help several times, the girl fell off the curb and stumbled drunk, the two guys chased me and tripped me up then one of them laid into me and the other sat yelling at the other guy to take it easy but the one guy that was beating me down thought I shoved his gf off the curb. They got my hat and my guitar and ran when the cab spun around and came towards us.
What I actually ended up with was a concussion, 2 broken ribs and some stitches above my right eye along with road rash on my left hand from where the one guy stepped on my hand and a broken blood vessel in my eye from the first kick that came through my hands as I fell down and turtled. That was the entire extent of the injuries and situation. I found out later that my cousin got in debt with a few guys for some weed and told them he knew where they could get a guitar that would pay off his debt. I did not tell the police this portion of it as it is being dealt with between my aunt and my mom. As for the guitar, it was passed along that night and my cousin was not able to get it back for me. It will turn up eventually and Ill get it back. But for now it is gone.
Right now I am borrowing a friends cheap Ibanez artist series guitar and it is getting me by, I dont NEED a new guitar as he said I could use it for as long as I needed to so I have a instrument in the meantime. However my family is going to buy me a new guitar and I am also putting my savings into the purchase. I have been a member of SS.org but I will not post in the thread you started because I dont want this coming back on me.What Tyler did was wrong, he lied and he apologized to me, my family and girlfriend for involving us. They all knew what he was trying to do but as far as they knew, he was only trying to make arrangements for them to buy something at a lower price.
After reading through his emails, what I do notice is that there were some things that were blown a little out of hand. He never once asked for a free guitar, he asked for a deal or a payment plan. He also has absolutely no clue about guitars apart from the $30 acoustic he has sitting in his room with 4 strings on it that he uses to play the one riff he knows (nirvana - come as you are). So really he should have never done this in the first place.
The cab took me to the hospital and also called the police. They as well as my mother and gf met me at the hospital. I was there from 10:30 until about 2:00am first waiting because there was a car accident that apparently had some of the staff understandably preoccupied. I got sewn up and got sent home with painkillers and instructions to take it easy. That was the extent of it. Nothing more, nothing less.
As for the guitar, I will have the money to purchase one, I was going to contact you this summer about buying one after school was done and I go back to work but after this I will have some money put together by my folks and myself to buy one. I would like for it to be from Blackat as I love the look of your guitars, I too own a black cat and I am of Polish descent so this would be great.
Now, you know the entire story from beginning to end, this is NOT something that Tyler is sending to every company. Is there any way that you could take down your ss.org thread and just handle this between the two of us? There was nothing given for free and honestly while I completely respect your frustration with the situation, I would like to see this over with.
